Frequently asked questions.

Everything families usually want to know before booking.

Where do bike rides take place? Is it safe? โ–ผ
Safety is our top priority. All bike rides take place exclusively on trails, in parks, and on streets closed to cars โ€” never in traffic or bike lanes. Locations include places like Golden Gate Park, the Embarcadero waterfront path, and Angel Island. The participant will never be near moving vehicles on one of our rides.
Do families provide bikes and helmets? โ–ผ
Yes. Families provide their participant's bike, helmet, and any needed gear. Wildflower Outdoor Recreation does not rent, sell, repair, or maintain bicycles or equipment.
What happens if there is weather, poor air quality, or another safety concern? โ–ผ
Sessions may be adjusted, rescheduled, or moved to a safer activity if weather, air quality, trail conditions, or other safety concerns make the original plan unsafe. I'll reach out in advance whenever possible if conditions may affect your session.
How do I pay? โ–ผ
Payment is collected after your session is confirmed. Wildflower accepts secure online payment through Stripe. For longer outings or activities with tickets, meals, or transportation costs, a deposit may be required.
My family member has autism, Down syndrome, or a developmental disability. Is this right for them? โ–ผ
Absolutely โ€” this is exactly who Wildflower was built for. I have a Bachelor's in Psychology, three autism-focused intervention certificates, personal experience with autism in my own family, and hands-on experience with a wide range of needs. Sessions are always adapted to the participant's pace, sensory preferences, and communication style. When in doubt, just reach out.
Can I stay with my family member during the session? โ–ผ
For many participants, especially on a first outing, parent presence is totally welcome. For others, a bit of independence is part of the goal. I'll discuss what works best for the participant at booking and adjust as needed.
What's your cancellation policy? โ–ผ
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a session are fully refunded or rescheduled. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session are non-refundable. Life can be unpredictable โ€” that's exactly why we ask for as much notice as possible so the slot can be offered to another family.
