๐ฟ About Wildflower
I built Wildflower around one simple idea: getting participants outside and into the world โ exploring city neighborhoods, discovering nature, trying new foods, making art, riding bikes, and so much more. Every session is personalized, unhurried, and designed around what each participant needs to feel safe, engaged, and genuinely happy.
I work with just one or two participants at a time so every participant gets real attention and a real experience. There's no rush, no one-size-fits-all approach โ just genuine connection, meaningful adventures, and me along for the ride.
๐ Olivia's Background
I grew up in a family that made outdoor adventure part of everyday life. Biking, swimming, camping, exploring new places, and spending time in nature shaped some of my happiest memories, helped me build confidence, and gave me meaningful ways to connect with others. I know how lucky I was to have those opportunities.
Over time, I noticed that while the Bay Area has many outdoor programs for participants, far fewer are designed for individuals who benefit from more individualized support. Wildflower Outdoor Recreation was created to help fill that gap. I offer patient, personalized biking, outdoor recreation, and community-based adventures for children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities and different support needs.
My degree provided a foundation in human development, behavior, and strengths-based, individualized support.
Over five years as a professional bike coach working with participants ages 4โ16, including leading and managing youth cycling programs โ adapting instruction for every age, ability, and learning style.
I completed the Special Olympics Unified Sports Coaching Course, strengthening my understanding of inclusive sports, meaningful participation, and how to support athletes and partners with different abilities.
I am certified as an Autism Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), with specialized training in adapting exercise and physical activity for autistic participants. This includes attention to communication, sensory needs, motivation, safety, and individualized support.
I am an ongoing volunteer with KEEN, supporting participants with developmental disabilities through swimming and a variety of outdoor exercise activities โ building trust, comfort, confidence, and joy one session at a time.
I've supported a family member with autism throughout my life, giving me a genuine, lived understanding of what families experience day to day โ and a deep personal commitment to this work that goes beyond any certificate.
I've completed three specialized certificate programs through AFIRM (Autism Focused Intervention Resources & Modules), designed specifically for working with autistic participants and covering practical, evidence-informed strategies.
I'm fully certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED use โ every participant is in safe, prepared hands on every adventure.
Wildflower Outdoor Recreation is an approved Self-Determination Program (SDP) vendor, which may allow eligible families to use SDP funding for personalized outdoor recreation and community-based activity support.
I've completed California's Mandated Reporter Training for Care Providers, issued with the California Department of Social Services. Valid through July 2028.
